Poem of the Month: Two Poems About Art

Good Art

Changes you, if only in phase,

like snow settles under sun.

I Want to Write a Poem

I want to write a poem in one sitting

as final as the past, like when

I made a boy laugh so hard

by hanging a pear from my nose

root beer exploded from his face.

Then he cried.

I don’t remember much else about him

except that he was twice my size

and ate mayo sandwiches on wonder bread.
